Our Approach to EMDR Therapy
EMDR Therapy is a powerful and evidence-based approach that helps clients process traumatic experiences and find relief from anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges. Through a series of eight phases, clients are guided to reprocess distressing memories and develop new, adaptive beliefs and behaviors.
Phase 1: History and Treatment Planning
During this phase, the therapist gathers information about the client's history and identifies specific targets for EMDR processing.
Phase 2: Preparation
The therapist helps the client develop coping skills and relaxation techniques to ensure they feel safe and prepared for the EMDR process.
Phase 3-6: Processing
During these phases, the therapist guides the client through bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, to reprocess the targeted memories and associated emotions.
